Among the ordained was Fr. Abraam Sleman, priest of the Coptic Orthodox
Church of Saint Mark, the first Coptic Church in America. Heg. Abraam Sleman is
credited to be one of the first Coptic priests to stress the importance of the
use of the internet as a medium to reach Copts. With the advent of the internet,
he created one of the first Coptic online publications, "Voice of the Bible",
which was later expanded to be
www.SaintMark.com and has now evolved into
www.CopticChurch.net, one of the
largest Coptic resources on the internet.
Heg. Abraam Sleman was ordained a priest on June 18th, 1989 by H.H. Pope Shenouda III during the Feast of Pentecost to the church of St. Mary, Ard El-Golf. On September 3rd, 1993, he was chosen by Pope Shenouda to serve in the Coptic Church of Saint Mark in Englewood, CO (USA). Then on January 5, 1995, after the passing away of Heg. Gabriel Abdelsayed, Pope Shenouda appointed him to serve at the Coptic Church of Saint Mark in Jersey, NJ. Heg. Abraam currently serves at Saint Mark's along with Fr. Markos Ayoub.
On
behalf of Fr. Markos Ayoub, the board of deacons, deacons, and servants of Saint
Mark's, we wish to thank H.H. Pope Shenouda III and pray that the Lord
continually bless the service of Heg. Abraam Sleman for years and years to come.
